Carl Hayden JROTC Placed Second at Roland Chu Memorial Invitational

The Falcon JROTC Adventure team is in second place after phase one of the Roland Chu Memorial Invitational.  The wilderness events were held at Camp Raymond near Flagstaff, September 15.  The Falcon cadets placed first in Rope Bridge and Land Navigation, second in the Leadership Reaction Course; fourth in the Rope climb and ninth in the Endurance run.  Hayden has 17 points, trailing Maryvale by six points. The Physical Training phase of the competition takes place at Maryvale High School, October 20.  The Falcons are coached by Senior Army Instructor Cliff Brumels. The event is named for Sergeant First Class Chu, a former Carl Hayden JROTC instructor.
