Trevor Browne Celebrated 40th Anniversary

The school celebrated its 40th Anniversary, September 14 during Homecoming with a pre-game program in the auditorium, followed by the dedication of Bill Mitton Stadium. The program, entitled “Connecting the Past to the Present to Motivate our Future” recognized academic, artistic and athletic accomplishments, and individuals and faculty members. entertainment was provided by the TGB Band, the Soundwave vocal group, former TGB Idol singers. Out on the football field, the Bruins only football coach for the first 29 years of the school was honored. A scoreboard sign was unveiled to show “Bill Mitton Stadium” as Mitton, family, former players and staff watched. Mitton won 206 games at Trevor Browne, winning 15 regional titles, and appearing in the state championship game in 1980-82, winning it all in 1981. The Bruins started fast against Central that night, jumping to a 14-0 halftime lead, before falling to the Bobcats, 28-14.
