Christian Guzman received a CBS 5 Kids with Character Award. The TV station crew came out to interview him, February 9. He was awarded a $500 gift card to Amazon. Multi-media teacher Heather Jancoski nominated him for his work with social media and volunteering. He does the school’s social media segment.

“At the beginning of the year it was easy for him to focus on the negative images of social media but then he started to create stories about how the social media impact on students was successful like the ALS ice bucket challenge, and provided support for suicide prevention and GLBT issues. He also did a great story for PBS Student Reporting Labs on another student who is his friend who volunteers,” Jancoski wrote.
