Central High School Took Part in the Recycle Bowl Competition

Central High School took part in the Recycle Bowl competition, and won the Most Improved School in the nation. The Bobcats also were 12th out of 122 schools in Arizona. The Recycle Bowl ran from October 20-November 15, and winners were announced in February. Results were determined by the amount of recycled materials divided by the number of teachers and students in the school. The program, presented by Keep America Beautiful, wants the competition to motivate young people to ward adopting sustainable behaviors. English teacher Mark Williams is the recycling coordinator for Centeral. A partner school to Phoenix Union, Phoenix Elementary’s Magnet Traditional, was the top recycler in the U.S.
