It has taken a few years, but teacher Celle Myrann and a group of enterprising students who designed a physical therapy chair, has received a patent for the item. The chair was developed with a $10,000 grant that the inventors won through the Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam Program in 2009. Two members of the InvenTeam, Antonio Hernandez and Diego Vazquez, were invited to the White House and met President Obama in 2010 during a science week celebration. The patent was issued on September 30, and the designers celebrated its arrival, October 21 at the school.
