Alhambra Hosted High School Nation Tour

The High School Nation Tour stopped at Alhambra High School, Tuesday, for a concert and interactive music and arts zone.  Over 2,000 students took in the four-act show, which is making 15 stops in California, Arizona and Nevada.  Alhambra was its only Phoenix stop.     Talent included Quincy Jones’ produced Blush, Brooklyn based Shinobi Ninja, California pop-rockers Stamps and other special guests.  The tour gives exposure to up-and-coming artists, as well as provides students with free entertainment at a time when funding for the arts has been severely cut nationwide. Along with a strong showcase for music appreciation, the festival highlighted journalism, film, fine arts, fashion and photography.  Student journalists got the opportunity to meet and interview the musicians and photograph the concert.  Retailer Tilly’s and other sponsors made the free concert possible.  High School Nation will be making donations to each school on the tour toward their music and arts programs.
