South Mountain JROTC Succeeded in Competition

The South Mountain JROTC Drill Team competed against 18 schools, February 23 at Carl Hayden High School, finishing 1st place overall in Unarmed Sweepstakes, 2nd in Color Guard and 2nd overall in the Drill Meet.  The Jaguar cadets took home trophies in: Unarmed Dual, 1st place commanded by Captain Janell Borja; Regulation Drill, 2nd place and Exhibition Drill, 2nd place commanded by  Captain Irene Velazquez; Inspection Drill, 3rd place commanded by  Captain Maria Ulloa.  The Armed Drill Team came away with a 2nd place in Inspection Drill,   and 3rd place in Regulation Drill, commanded by Cadet Major Jonathan Garcia.  Sergeant First Class Tony Lyons is the coach.
