Metro Tech Teacher Named Outstanding High School Business Educator

Christine Leibelt-Garcia was named the Outstanding High School Business Educator by the  Western Business Education Association.   She received the award at the organization’s conference, February 15-17 in Ogden,, Utah.  Liebelt-Garcia has been a business education teacher since 1996, teaching a variety of courses in the business curriculum. She has been a Future Business Leader of America (FBLA) advisor for the last 19 years, and has served on the State Board of Directors for the last three years, and was president of the board in 2008-2009.  One colleague cited Liebelt-Garcia’s project-based strategies.  “These projects include a taste test activity for marketing, a job fair for human resources, creation of business plans for entrepreneurship, and a “shark tank” activity for venture capitalism.”
